Cutting, welding, measuring - exact and reproducable movement for lenses and apertures

The MarMotion high precision rotary stroke bearing is the ideal guiding element in optics. It enables high precision backlash-free movements of lenses and apertures. This why it is used in microscopes or in the slit lamp that the eye doctor uses to examine the retina. Lenses of laser cutting heads attain their accuracy from the rotary stroke bearing. Rotary stroke bearings are even used in precision travelling mechanisms for quality control in the production of DVDs. In the scientific field, mirrors that are mounted on rotary stroke bearings steer the radiaton of particle accelerators to the detectors. Rotary stroke bearings are even already used in large relfector telescopes.

Precision for large optical systems and miniature optics

The preloading of the MarMotion high precision rotary stroke bearings guarantees absolute backlash-free movement with a high guiding precision as well as excellent  smooth movement and stick-slip-free running. These are the clear advantages compared to systems with framed balls. The preloading value is selected based on theoretical calculations from many years of practical experience and already set in the factory.

It is greatly advantageous that the MarMotion rotary stroke bearing can cover a very broad range of sizes. Large optical elements with a diameter of over 100 mm and considerable amounts can be guided just as precisely as lenses in miniature optics. Especially with small dimensions, Mahr has much experience with the mini series. Rotary stroke bearings beginning with a nominal diameter of 2.5 mm are available as a stand part of the Mahr program.

Rotary stroke bearings are available in a rust-proof model for dry running and for use in a vacuum. Models according to customer drawings are available in any amount.
