Press release: Practice-oriented tool measurement

MarVision TM 500 easy as can be

The requirements for the measurement of tools in the grinding shop are varied. On the one hand, a complete measurement is required, which means the measurement of the cutter geometry, the flute parameters and the characteristics of the tool end. All this should be as easy and, of course, as fast as possible. On the other hand, it is also important that individual characteristics such as diameter, point angle and step length are easily displayed. Just as we know it from the profile projector or measuring microscope.

For both measurement tasks, Mahr offers a convenient solution with the tool measuring machine MarVision TM 500:
The complete measurement with standard tools takes place extremely easily. Only four parameters must be entered on the starting surface and the measurement can be started. With the auto contour function, the tool is measured dynamically in the camera image, i.e. during the rotation, the software automatically detects the cutter contour. This automatically generates a measurement record. The set values and tolerances can also be changed retrospectively. With the patented process, both individual cutters and the superposition of all cutters can be evaluated. The measurement parameters of the flute and point geometry are supported by assistants and require no previous programming knowledge. In a short time, the measurement record is created and other measurements on the same tool run automatically.

If, however, only individual characteristics of tools are to be quickly and reliably determined, then the direct measurement is the best solution. With a few mouse clicks, typical features can be measured on tools. The result is displayed directly on the screen - just as fast as with a measuring microscope, but more specifically, through the use of automatic edge detection.

For grinding operations, MarVision TM 500 is the best solution, whether individual characteristics are to be measured quickly, or a complete measurement is desired. The user attains the desired result with little training and no software programming.
