World novelty: Roughness measurement combines Mahr technology with the advantages of a Smartphone The future of roughness measurements has already begun: The innovative measuring system MarSurf One combines Mahr technology with the comfort of a Smartphone. Never before in this form could surface measuring devices fulfill the attributes "mobile", "networked", "location independent" and "precise”. This world premiere has an advantage for manufacturing companies: It can be acquired at a very affordable price. Mobile surface measurements are now even easier: The software MarSurf One from the application specialist Mahr works in combination with the Smartphone of the user and gives him a whole new freedom of movement. With this innovation, the user can work unencumbered in the plant, but also while travelling - because he has the Smartphone with him anyway. He only needs the practical drive unit MarSurf RD 18 with the PHT 6-350 probe. The drive unit in the mobile phone format and the Smartphone communicate wirelessly via Bluetooth. All common roughness depth parameters such as Ra, Rz, Rmax, Rt, Rq are reliably and quickly recorded, evaluated and documented with MarSurf One. The system operates on the principle of the stylus method, has a measuring range of 350 µm and a profile resolution of 8 nm. Results and protocols of the measured roughness depth profile can be saved as a PDF file on the SD card and sent as an email, for example. The user easily enters into surface metrology: Without any training, he can immediately measure, since operating elements and operating philosophy correspond to the well-known Smartphone processes.
