General Mahr Federal Inc. now offers a Calibration and Preventive Maintenance Program for most Mahr Federal instruments including 'Formscan' geometry gaging systems, 'Surfanalyzer' surface analyzer systems and gage block and ID/OD comparators. Other gages, including special engineered gages, can also be considered for this service. The program includes cleaning, preventive maintenance, calibration and an automatic calibration notification program that reminds users when the next calibration is due. The Mahr Federal Service Engineer will indicate when repairs and replacement parts are necessary and will recommend replacement of parts, when appropriate, to minimize unscheduled service visits. A Calibration and Preventive Maintenance Agreement covers a period of up to one year and can include one or more service visits. An agreement may also cover one or more instruments. Mahr Federal is now certified to ISO 9001 for Dimensional Calibration including Field Service for Masters, Standards, and Gages. This program is of particular interest to our customers who also conform to ISO 9000 and other quality standards. Regular calibration using standards whose calibrations are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) ISO 9001 certified calibration system A system that notifies users when the next calibration is due Preventive maintenance helps avoid potentially costly repairs Calibration and maintenance costs that can be budgeted in advance Payment is not due until after work is performed Ability to minimize and plan instrument downtime Factory trained service engineers for the best service Eligible Equipment Instruments in normal operating condition are eligible including: 'Surfanalyzer' 4000, 5000 and 5400, 5600, M units, S3P w/PGK, S3P w/PRK, PeCo w/ PRK, PeCo w/PGK, PeCo w/PCV/CV-200, C4P 'Formscan' 3000, 3100, 3200, 3300, 3600, 6100 and 6200, MMQ-10/20, MMQ-40, MMQ-40 CNC, MMR-4, MFU-7, MFU-8, MMQ-3, MMQ-30 ID/OD comparators 136B-2, 136B-3 and 136B-5, 828UN, 828 Analog/PC, 828CIM Gage block comparators 130B-16, 130B-24 and 130B-38 CX1/DX1 Scope of Work Inspect instrument Disassemble as required Clean air bearings as required ('Formscans') Clean drives as required ('Surfanalyzers' and 'Formscan' 3300, 3600) Lubricate as required Recommend replacement of any worn parts Check accuracy and adjust calibration as necessary Reassemble as required Final inspection Supply NIST traceable instrument calibration certificate Agreements are for one visit per year per instrument unless quoted and agreed otherwise. Standards Mahr Federal will supply all the standards necessary to perform the calibrations. Repairs and Replacement Parts Any repairs or replacements parts needed to bring the instrument into normal operating condition will be charged to the Customer on a time and material basis. Standard Mahr Federal prices (plus shipping if applicable) for parts applies This extra work will be done only with the authorization of the Customer. In some instances it may not be possible to repair an instrument at the Customer's site. If it is necessary to return an instrument to Mahr Federal for repair, the Customer will be so informed. Note: The Mahr Federal Field Service Engineer will recommend parts replacement, when appropriate, to minimize unscheduled service. Pricing There is a set price for the basic service (prices available upon request). Travel expenses and travel time will be priced separately (see separate section). Travel Expenses Expenses such as airfare, mileage, car rental, lodging and meals are listed as travel expenses in the quotations and separate from the service price. If the agreement includes two (2) or more calibration/preventive maintenance servicing of the same instrument, the travel expenses price is understood as per visit. If multiple instruments are included in an agreement, time or mutually agreeable scheduling may not permit completion of all system in one visit, and additional travel expenses will be charged to the Customer. Travel time is charged at a rate of $100.00 per hour. Mileage is charged at $.345 per mile. Delays If there are delays not under the control of Mahr Federal while the Mahr Federal Field Service Engineer is at the Customer's site, the Customer may be charged for the delay at the rate of $125.00 per hour plus any additional travel and expenses incurred. Date(s) of Performance Work will be scheduled at a date mutually agreeable to both the Customer and Mahr Federal anytime within one year after the purchase order is received by Mahr Federal, but not sooner than four weeks after order receipt. Note: If the agreement includes two (2) or more calibration/preventive maintenance services on the same instrument, the subsequent servicing should be scheduled when scheduling the initial service. A minimum of four (4) weeks notice is required for the Customer to reschedule dates. Duration of Agreement The duration of this agreement is up to one (1) year. It is not an annual self-renewing contract. Terms and Conditions See Mahr Federal Inc. Standard Terms and Conditions of Sale (available upon request). Warranty Mahr Federal Inc. warranty applies, except that Mahr Federal warrants any replacement parts supplied during the performance of this agreement for ninety (90) days from the date of replacement. Warranties do not apply to cleaning, calibration or other services performed in the calibration/preventive maintenance service.
