2013-02 Mahr Federal Expands Application Center at Providence, RI, Headquarters
Mahr Federal has expanded the Application Center at its Providence, RI, headquarters, more than doubling in size the available space. The new center includes a broader range of dimensional gaging and metrology systems equipment to expand application development activity and allow increased customer participation.
Take a video tour around the Mahr exhibit at IMTS with Dave MacKenzie and see the latest dimensional metrology technology from The Application Specialist.
Long-time Mahr Federal employee Frederick G. Parsons was honored by ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) with the Patrick Higgins Medal.
2012-03 Kelvin Redefined with the Help of Mahr Form Measurement System
In conjunction with the General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM), the kelvin, the basic unit of thermodynamic temperature, is currently being newly defined at the PTB (Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt) in Braunschweig, Germany, the counterpart of NIST in the US. The goal of PTB's portion of the program is a precise determination of the Boltzmann constant k, the conversion factor between thermal and mechanical energy.
2011-09 Mahr Federal Celebrates Mahr's 150th Anniversary
Mahr Federal employees took time out from their busy schedules to celebrate as their parent company Mahr celebrates its 150th birthday. Founded by Carl Mahr as a small family concern in Esslingen, Germany, on the Neckar River in 1861, the Mahr Group has grown to be a global leader in precision metrology.
When a large bearing company needed to meet tighter performance specs, it found a way to improve the precision of its measuring process without investing in new gages: it remanufactured its existing "classics."
Mahr Federal's Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) has been expanded to include the company's Field Service Group.
