Intuitive operation and error-free evaluation
Mahr has developed the software to meet the increasing demands for ease of use, fast evaluation and reliable results in production environments. Customers benefit from a sophisticated user interface that enables both specialists and occasional users to take reliable measurements at all times.
In practice, it is not only technical specifications that determine the choice of a measuring system. It is just as important that it is clearly visualized, intuitive to use and offers error-free evaluation. Above all, users need a solution that leads them to reliable results in everyday life without any detours. This is precisely where the new MarWin MarSurf3D software comes in, as its interface is consistently user-centered. As a result, it offers a particularly high level of user-friendliness, operating safety, clarity, comprehensibility and visual clarity. This allows customers to achieve the desired result faster and retain control of the process at all times.
"The aim during development was to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in accordance with the ISO 25010 'Quality in Use' model," explains Product Manager Thorsten Höring. Particular attention was paid to positioning and designing the operating elements accordingly: The fewer clicks required, the lower the susceptibility to errors – and the faster the user reaches their goal. There are no nested menus. The graphical user interface (GUI) therefore fulfills key requirements in terms of haptics, handling, clarity and traceability. Analysis steps are easy to follow.
High functionality and clear user guidance
The software has a so-called Guided User Interface, which guides the user step by step through all the necessary settings through to standard-compliant, meaningful results. All important functions can be accessed at a glance and superfluous menus can be hidden. Topographies, profiles and result values are displayed clearly and precisely. If desired, evaluation steps can be combined using the quick app, meaning that little or no input is required, which speeds up routine tasks. "The software works in compliance with standards, reduces user influence and thus minimizes sources of error. Individual evaluations can be seamlessly integrated into automated processes," says Höring. The user guidance is context-sensitive, supported by tooltips and guided workflows. The design supports the Mahr brand with a consistent, modern appearance. A dark user interface with high-contrast accents, clear typography and interactive 3D data visualization ensure high readability and an appealing presentation.
Fully compatible with Mahr systems
MarWin MarSurf3D is fully compatible with existing Mahr systems such as the MarSurf MSW, ASW and MarWin software and also enables access to stored evaluation routines via external programs. The software architecture is future-proof and designed for comprehensive compatibility with Microsoft systems.MarWin MarSurf3D is based on a modular structure that integrates reusable evaluation and filter modules via defined interfaces.
In addition, the software is multitasking-capable and specially optimized for use on multi-core processors: It also displays larger 3D graphics smoothly. A typical analysis process – from loading the measurement to pre-processing and evaluation in accordance with ISO 25178 – usually only takes a few seconds. "It can process measurement data with a volume of up to one gigabyte without any problems," adds Höring. This enables a noticeably faster analysis of complex components and supports higher production speeds.
