National winner in apprenticeship “Industrial Mechanic”: Florian Siegel from Mahr


Mahr once again provides the national winner in the Industrial Mechanic apprentice trade at the Association of German Chambers of Commerce Industry and Commerce (DIHK)

For the second time in a row, a Mahr apprentice is the national winner at the DIHK in the apprentice trade “Industrial Mechanic”. With the best scores, the Mahr apprentice Florian Siegel was successful nationwide.

As an internationally active application specialist for metrology, Mahr GmbH puts great emphasis on the thorough training of its apprentices. For the second time in a row now, a Mahr apprentice is again the national winner of the German Industry and Commerce (DIHK) in the occupation "Industrial Mechanic". Mahr apprentice Florian Siegel in Goettingen had the best scores in his class and graduated this year with “very good” in all the examination subjects. He is also the best in his field of the Chamber for Industry and Commerce Goettingen and regional winner of the Chamber for Industry and Commerce in Lower Saxony. The tribute to the national winner will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Maritim Hotel Berlin at Potsdamer Platz. Laudator is Kristina Schröder, German Minister for Family Affairs.

"In his three and a half years of training, Florian Siegel showed great ambition, motivation and perseverance," praises Udo Fuchs, full-time trainer of industrial mechanics at Mahr. "His passion was the programming and operation of CNC machines." Mr. Siegel has since been taken on by Mahr and successfully gives his knowledge and enthusiasm to production in the "soft machining metrology".

Especially in times of skill shortages, excellent training is very important to Mahr in order to train qualified employees themselves. "As a high-tech company, Mahr offers its trainees an excellent basis during training with very modern equipped workshops, three trainers and in-house training," said Stephan Gais, managing director at Mahr. "The investment in our apprentices pays off since we are able to bind such well trained staff in this manner."

Mahr provides a total of fifty apprenticeship places - in addition to the apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic, apprenticeships can also be completed as an electrician for devices and systems, IT specialist /, industrial electrician and industrial business person and business person in wholesale and foreign trade (Esslingen). Education has a high priority at Mahr: In 2013, the company will open a new training center in Göttingen.
